The Driver Era recently released their single Don’t Walk Away and we were lucky enough to have a quick chat with them about it and how they were feeling.
The Driver Era have released quite a few singles this year and have recently dropped their latest called Don’t Walk Away. The song first premiered on BBC Radio 1 Future Pop.
Ross and Rocky Lynch also added Don’t Walk Away to their ‘X Girlfriend’ setlist while they were over in the UK and Europe, so if you were there (like us!) then you got to hear the groovy track live. The single expresses the thrill of an unexpected whirlwind romance, accompanied by an upbeat guitar riff and a terrific synth.
Don’t Walk Away follows September’s release of You Keep Me Up At Night and February’s release of Get Off My Phone. All three songs perfectly capture the essence of The Driver Era.
As briefly mentioned above, the brother duo have embarked on an extensive world tour this year, taking them all around the globe. There is, however, no rest for the wicked as they are set to take to the road again in 2025. Find ‘Obsession’ tour dates here.
We were lucky enough to have the chance to speak with The Driver Era about their latest single and the live shows that they’ve been playing this year.
Congrats on your new single ‘Don’t Walk Away’, I absolutely love it! How do you feel now it’s been released for the world to enjoy?
Thank you. Glad you love it. It feels good. I really like how this one turned out.
How would you describe ‘Don’t Walk Away’?
It’s a curve ball of a bop. It keeps you guessing and dancing.
Fans who’ve been to your recent live shows may have heard the new single. What has it been like to play it live?
It encourages a stank face. It’s satisfying when we execute the pocket cleanly. It’s fairly intricate for a pop song.

Out of the three singles you have released this year Don’t Walk Away, You Keep Me Up at Night and Get Off My Phone, which is your favourite and why?
You can’t really pick favorites… it’s subjective. Depends on the day. Don’t Walk Away being the latest single does feel exciting though.
You have been teasing even more new music at your live shows in the UK and Europe. Will you be releasing any of those songs soon?
Ideally as soon as possible. It’s a process. But we love it.
Speaking of live shows, you’re nearing the end of your global ‘X Girlfriend’ tour. How has that tour been?
Every tour seems to just get better. This was our greatest to date. The camaraderie, the shows, the fans – all top tier.
Has there been any stand-out moments from this tour?
Yes definitely. Loads of memories that I’ll cherish. But I don’t have any to share, unfortunately. Recently I’ve enjoyed keeping my memories more private.
You’re also taking to the road once again next year for the ‘Obsession’ tour, you seem to never be off tour! Are you looking forward to those shows? How is that tour going to differ from the current one?
Yes, we tour a lot. It’s been our bread and butter our whole careers. This will probably be our last tour for a while and we want to go out with a bang.
Other than the tour next year, is there anything else your fans can look forward to?
Yes, most definitely. We hope to make you laugh and feel good through music, content and live shows etc. Hope to see you soon!
