Taylor Swift has announced her eagerly-anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Taylor Swift has finally announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, much to her fanbase’s delight. She announced the album on the ‘New Heights’ podcast which is hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason. Taylor teased the album briefly as “TS12” before revealing the title and album artwork in the full episode.
Taylor has now also confirmed the full track list, there will be twelve (clever!) brand new songs on the album. The title track will also feature Sabrina Carpenter, who is also due to release a new album at the end of this month.
The producers of The Life of a Showgirl have been listed as Taylor herself, Max Martin and Shellback. Both Max Martin and Shellback were the main producers for Taylor’s Reputation album and so fans of that era are definitely going to be in for a treat with this album. Although it’s not a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) like some hoped for, it is bound to live up to standard.
Recently, Taylor Swift also excitedly revealed, via a virtual handwritten letter, that she had bought back the masters to all six of her albums that she didn’t own. Swifties all over the globe took to social media to celebrate the win and congratulate Taylor. Taylor did also mention in said letter that she wasn’t planning on releasing a Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
Each of Taylor’s eras have a set colour and this coming one appears to be orange. Eagle eye fans also spotted that Taylor has been dropping hints of the new album as far back as The Eras Tour. At the final show of The Eras Tour, Taylor told the crowd “see you next era” and appeared to walk through an orange door. She later confirmed on the ‘New Heights’ podcast that this was indeed a nod to her new era. Taylor also admitted that she worked on this album while on The Eras Tour in Europe.
There are four variant deluxe CDs of The Life of a Showgirl; Sweat and Vanilla Perfume, It’s Frightening, It’s Rapturous and It’s Beautiful.
The Life of a Showgirl is due to be released on 3rd October. Pre-order your copy here.
