The Jonas Brothers have released a new single, Listen When Sad, kicking off their new era.
The Jonas Brothers have just released a brand new song, Listen When Sad, and have sent their fans into a frenzy. The song comes just a week after the brothers performed three sold-out shows at Madison Square Gardens.
Nick, Joe and Kevin have gone back to their roots for this song and have massively tapped into nostalgia and their own past. When the Jonas Brothers first started, they had a pop-punk sound before morphing into more pop-rock. This song definitely fits the pop-punk sound and the lyrics fit it too.
Listen When Sad discusses the emotions of a teenage relationship and how you thought it’d last forever. It isn’t nostalgia bait, it is simply the Jonas Brothers reminiscing on their old sound but bringing into a more modern world. It wouldn’t sound out of place on Disney Channel, let’s put it that way, but I love that.
Not only have they created the most nostalgic song, they’ve also briefly updated their website to match. Their official website has since been turned into a MySpace profile (see below), reminding fans of how they first started. Check out their website here.
As mentioned, this single follows an extremely successful run at Madison Square Gardens where they debuted the single. Kevin, Joe and Nick took to the stage for three back to back nights to kick off the ‘Burning Up’ tour. The tour will take them all across the US and Canada, with fans hoping they’ll make announcements for other countries soon.
